Dr.
Fred P. Gnadinger, President/CEO of Microtronix Corporation has
30 years of experience in the semiconductor industry. He founded
Microtronix, a semiconductor technology company, in 1990. Microtronix
is engaged in the development of a ferroelectric technology for
use in non- volatile semiconductor memories and a novel MEMs technology,
WaferStak™, that allows stacking of semiconductor chips, wafers
or portions of wafers to form three dimensional semiconductor
devices. In 1994 Microtronix also started a successful design
operation and completed several state of the art designs including
a 64k and a 256k ferroelectric memory.
Prior
to forming Microtronix, Dr. Gnadinger served as Chief Technical
Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Ramtron International Corporation,
a semiconductor company engaged in the development and application
of the ferroelectric technology for non-volatile memory products.
Between 1987 and 1990 he led the company during a strong growth
phase and increased employment from less than 20 to over 100 employees.
Prior
to his engagement at Ramtron, Dr. Gnadinger worked for INMOS Corporation,
a British Semiconductor Company, as Vice- President for product
development. Under his leadership INMOS developed a broad range
of semiconductor memory devices (SRAM, DRAM and EEPROM) that generated
at the peak of the company in 1984 a total of $150M in revenues.
His responsibilities included technology development, design and
quality assurance.
Dr.
Gnadinger holds 5 US patents and several foreign patents He authored
numerous publications including a book chapter published by Academic
press, New York. He has also given many talks at Scientific Conferences
and has been an invited speaker on several other occasions.
Dr.
Gnadinger received an MSEE degree from the Swiss Federal Institute
of Technology (ETH) in Zurich, Switzerland and an MSEE and a Ph.D.
degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kansas.
